Welcome to the official Coleraine Pastoral & Agricultural Society website!

CPAAS was established in 1863 in the small town of Coleraine, South West Victoria, Australia. Pastoral and Agricultural events and shows have been organised across the world for centuries. CPAAS has been showing in Coleraine for 160 years in 2023, making the Coleraine Show one of the oldest in Victoria. To put things into perspective - the oldest P&A society in Australia is the Van Diemen’s Land Agricultural Society established in 1822.

The original purpose of agricultural shows was to promote rural industry - this is still true today! The oldest agricultural show in the world is considered to be the Salford Agricultural Society who began organising events in Lancashire, England in 1768. These events showcased livestock, craft and even featured shearing demonstrations and despite the enormous amount of innovation that has occurred in the agricultural industry over the past 200 years - showing events have remained relatively the same. The Coleraine P&A Society is proud to continue showing traditional events and promoting rural industry and innovation.
